Hello all,
Today is a bit of a different post than usual. Instead of writing the usual blog post, I’m sharing a video of my latest interview with Marc Fonteijn at the Service Design Show. This is the second time I have been featured on the show. The first time was three years ago when I shared thoughts on organisational change and dark matter. This time, I share thoughts on leadership.
I listened to the conversation once Marc published the episode, and I must say I’m pretty proud of the way I managed to express some of the concepts. I think this interview could serve as a source of inspiration or reflection for some of the design leaders out there.
A few key parts, in my opinion:
04:30 Why is it important to shift our understanding of organisations towards one that considers them as living ecosystems?
17:00 My secret to my confidence and the difference between being confident and arrogant.
21:30 Your design material when dealing with organisational change.
30:30 Processes have no intrinsic will. They can be changed.
46:00 Where to start to make change happen.
I’d love to hear your reflections and thoughts on the episode.
Happy watching!

A few days ago, I sent an email to all paying subscribers asking them to share thoughts on topics you’d like us to tackle in the next few webinars. If you haven’t done that yet, please reply in the comments with your wishes and ideas!
